I’m an eternal optimist, but also a realist. How did this deadly combination happen? Let’s find out.

In school, I was one of those kids who would ace every exam and at the same time would be the first one to participate in extracurricular activities. Noticing my potential, everyone encouraged me to take up Engineering. But I chose a different path.

I took up Commerce instead. My elder brother (who I admire the most) had opted for mechanical engineering and I knew the financial burden I would put on my parents if I too took up engineering. This was my first tryst with the path of realism.

The decision of taking up Commerce felt like a compulsion at first but it actually turned out to be a blessing in disguise. It opened up an ocean of opportunities for me and made me discover my two true interests - marketing and management. So, I decided to pursue an integrated MBA course to fuel my passion once I got done with high school.

Soon, I started working in a pharma company and began handling their marketing portfolio. This gave me an opportunity to work with a number of writers, designers and visualisers. And through interactions with them, I got a sneak peek into agency life. So, when the time came to make a decisive career shift, I decided to make the switch to agency life.

A few weeks after I had made up my mind, I saw an opening at Litmus Branding and decided to take the plunge. Nervousness was at its peak as I was about to enter a completely different industry. But with a few deep breaths, I applied, and the rest as they say is history.

The management at Litmus truly understood where I was coming from and gave me enough time to settle into the new world. Now, I handle more than 20 accounts, all thanks to the support of my fellow team members and the trust shown in me by my seniors.

I finally feel a sense of purpose at the beginning of the day and a sense of fulfilment at the end of it. And guess what? Being an eternal optimist as well as a realist helps me in my role in more ways than one.

I feel this is how it was meant to be.
