Magbè Savané from Madison transformed her childhood passion of making beverages into a business affair- Makomas, with the purpose of serving people with authentic, tasty and healthy traditional drinks from Cote d’Ivoire, her birth country. Her sole purpose behind the inception of Makomas was to inculcate the naturally rich recipes from West Africa, respectively- Baobab drink, Ginger drink and Hibiscus drink that revitalizes all.
The client expected from us to create a flavorsome brand identity design to propagate these healthy drinks as time tested recipes that are not just like other beverages available in the market. A visually appealing personality that could reflect the vision of Makomas along with the communication that these drinks are 100% organic without the use of added sugar, caffeine, preservatives and artificial flavors. Also, Magbè Savané wished to make Makomas- a sustainable business model to improve the lives of woman in Africa who grow the Baobab fruit.
In order to attach a freshening look to these thirst-quenching drinks, the first priority was to create a logo that could speak of the philanthropic and organic attributes of Makomas. We redefined their existing logos for both Makomas foundation and Makomas product that stand for three pillars of the brand- Natural, Taste and Health. From designing pouch packaging to the labels for beverages, we also acted as their consulting partners for their corporate identity design like badges, apron and stationary items.
Gradually, the products gained recognition in the market and there was a demand to design merchandise for outdoor campaigns like posters and standees. An ingenious web design that boast of efficient functionalities, help consumers find Makomas’s store in their vicinity helped Makomas gain more audience. Then, we took a leap into designing social media creatives offering fresh perspective about the brand.
